A practical guide for the early days of divorce or separation

Camille Toscano, Author
I went through my own separation and divorce at a time when I felt overwhelmed, disoriented, and unsure what I should be focusing on. Like many people, I found that while there was plenty of legal information available, there was far less support for the emotional and practical reality of those early days.
I struggled to find guidance that recognised how difficult it can be to think clearly when everything feels uncertain — when decisions feel heavier than expected, and it’s hard to know what actually matters in the moment.

Over time, and through professional training, study, and lived experience, I began to understand what genuinely helps people during this phase. I have a background in social science, have completed a foundation course in psychotherapy, and I’m an accredited break-up and divorce coach — supporting the emotional, psychological, and relational impact of separation.
The Divorce SOS Handbook was created to offer the kind of steady, practical guidance I wish I’d had myself. It’s designed specifically for the early stages of divorce or separation — not to push you forward, but to help you slow things down, reduce risk, and make more considered decisions.
This isn’t about fixing yourself or becoming a different person. It’s about having a clear, grounded reference you can return to when things feel confusing, intense, or unfamiliar.

If you’re here, you don’t need motivation.
You need clarity, steadiness, and somewhere safe to begin.
